Nazarbayev signed the decree on the transition of the Kazakh alphabet on Latin

The head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev approved by the decree the alphabet of Kazakh based on Latin graphics and has signed the decree on the translation of the alphabet from Cyrillics on Latin graphics, Akorda's website reported.

He charged to the government to form the National commission on the translation of the Kazakh alphabet on Latin graphics and to provide stage-by-stage transfer to Latin graphics till 2025.

Control of performance of the decree is imposed on Administration of the President of Kazakhstan.

The decree becomes effective from the date of its publication. The approved alphabet in Latin is attached to the decree.
